At Pennel & Flipo, we have developed a very strong composite
of PU and double-ply polyester to be used as permanent boom.
You can achieve easier deployment given the increased suppleness of our
formulation.
Also, most competitors’ fabrics are press-coated, a process that
allows threads to move to the surface of the coating, permitting water
and pollutants to infiltrate, thereby reducing the abrasion resistance
and the mechanical properties down the road.
Our process consists of laminating films of PU on 2 layers of weave, a
process that ensures increased longevity. Given that the middle layer
of the PU is protected by 2 weaves, it maintains its’ original
properties over a much longer period of time.
We formulated a high end virgin Polyether PU, not blended, ensuring up
to 3 times the abrasion resistance of competitive products. This heavy
double-ply composite is not thermo-set, thereby allowing the welding of
seams and accessories.
